Angelus Silesius House
coordinating organisation
ANGELUS SILESIUS HOUSE, the non-governmental education and training centre, was established in 1993 by the Jesuits. Their goal was to create a place in Wrocław, in which young Europeans could get to know one another and develop in the spirit of dialogue. Presently we also co-operate with the Mediterranean, Caucasian and Middle Asian states, and seek expansion of the partnership onto further regions of the world.
The focus of our activity is a young man. We meet him as a participant of educational projects, a volunteer, a partner or a beginning worker of a non-governmental organization. We try to ensure friendly, pro-development space for him. By offering training-counselling services, we want to make contribution to strengthening the third sector and building the civic society. www.silesius.org.pl
UNESCO Initiative Centre
UNESCO Initiatives Centre was set up in September 2004. Our mission is to involve people, in particular young people, in developing society based on respect for diversity and a sense of responsibility for social and natural environment. We want to achieve our aims through the following tools: trainings, seminars, workshops and long term projects on local, regional and European level. Main topics and areas we focus on are active participation and intercultural learning.
We are members of different European and global networks: CASCADE, Youth Network for Peace Building. We directly work with the Ministry of Education in Poland, with Polish UNESCO Commission and with the UNESCO Youth Section at UNESCO Headquarter in Paris. We mainly organise educational project within Youth in Action Programme and recently as well within Grundtvig Programme. Apart from that we use as well Visegrad Fund funding, and some of our project have support from the Ministry of Education and UNESCO itself (even though it is a very rare opportunity as UNESCO in general is not a funding organisation). Within the last few years the main focus on our work is:
• Cooperation within Euroregion Nisa (PolaCzek – polish – Czech project, projects focussed on cross border cooperation) https://pl.polaczek.meetneighbours.eu
• Open space as a methodology – we use it both for rising active participation of school pupils as well for the process of developing youth policy in the region https://en.unescocentre.pl/open-space-97/
• Youth polish and youth participation – we are present and supportive (as facilitators) in the process of consulting and developing youth policy on local, regional, country level (Polish Youth Council), European level (Youth Event) and global level (UNESCO Youth Forum)
• We focus on participation – through constant cooperation within Sailors on the Citizenship project and through long term initiatives in the region focused on youth participation – The World is Yours as Well project.

Panser Galter Drott
Panser Galter Drott - a Viking Group from Wrocław, is an organization associating people fascinated in the Scandinavian culture of the Viking expansion age, which came into being from other, earlier acting groups. Our work is to reconstruct clothing and armory etc. in accordance with archaeological and historical sources (chronicles, publications, saga, and runic stones).
Our aim is to reconstruct the Viking age as faithfully as possible. It is a great way of spending time meeting many interesting people who want to share in the fun and enjoyment of a mutual interest. In this way, it helps us relay the knowledge about the early middle ages.
We portray the Viking warriors, craftsman and merchants from the period between the 7th and 10th century. Our clothing, weapons and crafts are replicas of the originals used in that time. We have a good affiliation with people from all backgrounds, education and age with. Together we enjoy our time attending many rallies and festivals - any place where you can find a Viking. Our rules is writen in Hirdskra.
